Remember Me

And please remember me and do me a favor when things go well for you. Mention me to Pharaoh, so he might let me out of this place. —Genesis 40:14 (NLT)

Joseph asked the chief butler to put in a good word for him to Pharaoh, however, the chief butler did not remember Joseph but forgot him (Genesis 40:23). However, God did not forget about Joseph and in due time, He exalted him over all the land of Egypt. (Genesis 41:41).

Sometimes we try to make the right connections and orchestrate special favors, but may we realize the ultimate hook-up comes from God alone. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8 NKJV). God has plans for you that are good and He will direct your steps. (Proverbs 16:9). No matter where you are today, God remembers you and He is working for your good.

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel. — Ezra 7:10 (NKJV) May we prepare our hearts and set our minds to diligently read and study the Word of God. Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. (See Psalms 119:165 NKJV) As pressure and stress bear down on you, find joy in His commands. (See Psalms 119:143 NLT) Psalms 78:8 (NKJV) says, its a stubborn and rebellious generation, that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. Blessed and favored by God are those who keep His testimonies, and who [consistently] seek Him and long for Him with all their heart. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you.
