The Power of the Tongue
Then Job spoke again: “How long will you torture me? How long will you try to crush me with your words? You have already insulted me ten times. You should be ashamed of treating me so badly. —Job 19:1-3 (NLT)
Don't crush people with your words. James 3:8 says, the human tongue is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. (James 3:9 NLT) Proverbs 18:21 says: Death and life are in the power of the tongue. We choose the words that come out of our mouths. Make a decision to speak words of life over your life and over the lives of those around you. Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. (Proverbs 16:24 NLT)
“But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” —Matthew 12:36-37 (NLT)
