“Is anything too difficult for the LORD?
“Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” —Genesis 18:14 (NASB1995)
In Genesis 21:1-2, the LORD did for Sarah as He had promised. So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him. Nothing is too difficult for our great God. He makes barren wombs fruitful. He brought water out of a rock. (Exodus 17:6) He closed the mouths of lions. (Daniel 6:22) He delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego from the fiery furnace, etc.
Yahweh is faithful to fulfill every word He has spoken. Fourteen years elapsed between the birth of Ishmael, the son of the flesh, and the birth of Isaac, the son of the promise. No matter how circumstances may appear, once we receive the Word of the LORD, we need to keep standing in faith, until the appointed time comes. By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. (Hebrews 11:11 NASB1995)
