“if My people...”
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” —2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
If children of God (those who are called by His name), want Yahweh to heal and restore our land, we need to do our part. First, we are to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God (See 1 Peter 5:6). Second, we are to persistently pray to our Heavenly Father, instead of complaining, criticizing, or worrying. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (See James 5:16 NLT)
Third, the Word says to seek His face. This is a posture of the heart. Psalms 27:8 (NASB1995) says: When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.” The affections of our hearts are to be set on Yahweh, more than anything else this world has to offer. And the fourth thing we are instructed to do is to turn away from wicked ways. This involves repentance and changed lives. Ephesians 5:8 instructs us to walk and live as children of Light. As children of God, we are to appear as beacons of light, shining bright in the world of darkness. (See Philippians 2:15) If we, as God's people, do our part, Yahweh is faithful to forgive our sins and heal our land. Amen.
