“How Often Should I Forgive?”

Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”Matthew 18:21-22 (NLT)

Yeshua says, the second greatest commandment is equally important as the first: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].” (See Matthew 22:39 NLT & AMP) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT) May you forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart, and keep no account of a wrong suffered. First Corinthians 13:5 (VOICE) simply says: Love doesn’t tally wrongs.

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.Matthew 6:14-15 (NLT)
