He Freely Gives

“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change.” —James (Jacob) 1:17 (TPT)

May we set our hope on God, who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. (See 1 Timothy 6:17 AMP) By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3 NLT)

In Genesis 2:16-17, the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat…” Even though they had access to every other tree in the garden of Eden, the serpent got Eve to focus on the one tree that was prohibited. (See Genesis 3:1-6) The enemy likes to get us focused on the one thing we lack. May we always have a thankful attitude and a grateful heart for all that Yahweh has freely given to us. Let us appreciate our gifts and use them to be a blessing to others. When you are tempted to focus on lack, count your blessings instead.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the [Holy] Spirit who is from God, so that we may know and understand the [wonderful] things freely given to us by God. —1 Corinthians 2:12 (AMP)

So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you. He Came to Save
