Learn The Secret

I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. —Philippians 4:12 (AMP)

Like the Apostle Paul, may we learn the secret of not just surviving but thriving in whatever kind of situation or circumstance that comes our way. In Philippians 4:4, he also instructs us to rejoice in the Lord always. So, no matter what set of circumstances you face today, don’t let the enemy steal your joy. Let us put more time and energy into trusting God and drawing near to Him than we do in trying to control our circumstances or manipulate people. The closer we are to Him the more likely we will see the situation from His perspective, a higher viewpoint. 

Learn to be content and wait with expectation for God to lead you and guide you in the best course of action. And be confident that Yahweh knows what is best for you and He has already worked out the day you will be delivered from your troubles. The work He is doing in us is not about our comfort or convenience but about our salvation and sanctification.

Prepare Your Heart

Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. (See Psalms 119:143 NLT) Psalms 78:8 (NKJV) says, its a stubborn and rebellious generation, that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (AMP) James 1:2-4 (NLT) says: “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you.
