He Gives Life

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” —John 6:32-33 (NKJV)

And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) Jesus is the bread of life, who gives life to the world. He is the only One who can satisfy our hunger. That emptiness inside our hearts, hungers for His presence, and nothing else will do. In Matthew 6:11, Jesus taught His disciples to pray: “Give us this day our daily bread” because He is the One who sustains our lives, day by day. In order to live full and satisfying lives, we must partake of Him everyday. So let us respond to Jesus, the same way His disciples did: They said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” (John 6:34)
