How Do You Smell?
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. —Ephesians 5:2 (NLT)
What fragrance are you releasing? The world or the flesh (pride, arrogance and selfishness)? Believers are to be a pleasing aroma to God. We are a life-giving perfume, as we follow the example of Christ. Children of God are to walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved us and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God, a sweet fragrance. (See Ephesians 5:2 AMP)
...thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? (2 Corinthians 2:14-16 NASB1995)
