“Who do you say that I am?”
And it happened that while He was praying alone, the disciples were with Him, and He questioned them, saying, “Who do the people say that I am?” —Luke 9:18 (NASB1995)
First Jesus asked His disciples “Who do the people say that I am?” Then, He asked them: “But who do you say that I am?” (See Luke 9:20) We can listen to what others say about Jesus, but it is a matter of life and death, for us to know Who He is for ourselves, to have that one-to-One, intimate relationship with Him. Peter answered and said He is “The Christ of God.” Luke 9:56 says, He is the Son of Man who did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. In John 4:25-26, He is the Messiah, who is called Christ. In John 1:29, He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! In John 10:7, He is the Door (or gate) for the sheep leading to life. In John 10:11, Jesus is the good Shepherd, Who gives His life for the sheep. In Job 19:25, He is the living Redeemer, Who will take His stand on the earth. In John 14:6 (AMP), Jesus is the only Way to God, the real Truth, and the real Life; no one comes to the Father but through Him. Invite Him into your heart today. Receive Him as Lord (Master) and Savior of your life.
