Boast Only in the LORD
Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD. —Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NASB1995)
Psalm 94:4 (NKJV) says: All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. Who or what do you boast about? The wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless. So then let no one boast in men. (See 1 Corinthians 3:19-21 NASB1995) Rather, boast in Yahweh. For He is not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with Him. The boastful shall not stand in His sight… (See Psalm 5:4-5 NKJV) He delights in lovingkindness, justice and righteousness. May our greatest pursuit be to understand and know Yahweh, to become more like Him and to be known by Him.
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. —Psalm 34:1-3 (NKJV)
