The Chief Corner Stone
The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. This is the LORD’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. —Psalm 118:22-24 (NASB1995)
First Peter 2:6 (NASB) says: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, and he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.” This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, this became the very corner stone,” and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed. (1 Peter 2:7-8 NASB1995) Come to Him [the risen Lord] as to a living Stone which men rejected and threw away, but which is choice and precious in the sight of God. (1 Peter 2:4 AMP) Trust in and rely on Him, God’s only Son—the Source of our salvation. Our satisfaction and greatest joy is in Him.
