Be On the Alert

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. —1 Peter 5:8 (NASB1995)

Our enemy the devil is always seeking an opportune time to steal, to kill, and to destroy. (See John 10:10) So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. (1 Thessalonians 5:6 NLT) Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:11-12 NASB1995) Whatever your struggle, know that the battle belongs to Yahweh and He has given us the victory through our Lord, King Yeshua the Christ. (See 1 Corinthians 15:57)

For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]. —1 John 5:4 (AMP)

Patient Endurance

But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction.
