“Come Back!”
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! —Luke 15:7 (NLT)
In Luke 15:11-24, Yeshua tells a parable about a younger son who demanded his share of the father's estate. He then moved to a distant land, and wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He got a job feeding pigs, and was so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. (Note: the world will leave you dry and empty).
When he finally came to his senses, he decided to return home to his father to be a hired servant. So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. He then proceeded to clothe him and celebrate.
No matter how far we stray away from our Heavenly Father, He sees us. He is filled with love and compassion, and His arms are open to embrace us and hold us close to Him. “My wayward children,” says the LORD, “come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” “Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply, “for you are the LORD our God.” (Jeremiah 3:22 NLT)
