Do As He Says
Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.” —Luke 5:5 (NASB1995)
Even though Peter and the other fishermen had worked hard all night and caught nothing, he obeyed the words of Yeshua and lowered the nets again. As a result, they caught such a great number of fish, they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink. (See Luke 5:6-7) Oh, the blessings that follow our obedience!
May we always do as our Lord and Savior says. When He says: “Follow Me,” let us follow Him each and every moment of the day. It’s only when we abide in Him that we can bear much fruit. (See John 15:4-5) Yeshua says: “Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone…” And the blessing we receive is that our Father who is in heaven will also forgive us our transgressions. (See Mark 11:25)
In Matthew 6:31-32, Yeshua instructs us not to worry about food, drink and clothing, because our heavenly Father knows that we need all these things. Instead we are to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us.” (See Matthew 6:33) Amen.
In Mark 12:29-31, Yeshua said the two greatest commandments were to love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
