Grace to the Humble

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up— and it shall be brought low
… —Isaiah 2:11-12 (NKJV)

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (See James 4:6 NKJV) Instead of being prideful or arrogant, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, (see 1 Peter 5:6), for Yahweh will have a day of reckoning. “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 1:19-20 NKJV) So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due. (1 Corinthians 4:5 NLT)

Human pride will be humbled, and human arrogance will be brought down. Only the LORD will be exalted on that day of judgment.Isaiah 2:17 (NLT)
