God of Restoration
He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. —Psalm 23:3 (NASB1995)
Yahweh is a God of restoration. In addition to the restoration of our souls, He will restore us to the joy of His salvation (see Psalm 51:12), the joy we had when we first accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior. In Joel 2:25 (NKJV), He says: “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust...” After much calamity and affliction, the LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. (See Job 42:10 AMP) After you have suffered a little while, 1 Peter 5:10 (NLT) says, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. Turn back to Yahweh, rely on Him and you will be restored. The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. (Isaiah 58:11 NLT)
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his holy prophets. —Acts 3:19-21 (NLT)
