Dwell on These Things
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. —Philippians 4:8 (NASB1995)
What we let our minds dwell on, is very important. Romans 12:2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. What fills our mind will eventually fill our heart and then come out of our mouth. Philippians 4:8 (AMP) says: …if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. In Yeshua, we have plenty of praiseworthy things that can fill our minds.
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. —Philippians 4:8 (MSG)
