Cry Out
When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” —Mark 10:47-48 (NASB1995)
The crowd told the blind beggar named Bartimaeus, to be quiet, but he cried out all the more. Because he ignored the crowd and continued to call on Jesus, he regained his sight, and began following Jesus on the road. (See Mark 10:52) When those around you try to dissuade you from crying out to Jesus, ignore them. It's okay if your loud faith makes others uncomfortable. Continue to call on His name, continue to speak the Word of God and keep on believing. For Jesus said to Bartimaeus, “Go; your faith has made you well.” And once you receive from the Lord, be like Bartimaeus and continue to follow Jesus.
