Where is Your Treasure?
Some people store up treasures in their homes here on earth. This is a shortsighted practice—don’t undertake it. Moths and rust will eat up any treasure you may store here. Thieves may break into your homes and steal your precious trinkets. Instead, put up your treasures in heaven where moths do not attack, where rust does not corrode, and where thieves are barred at the door. —Matthew 6:19-20 (VOICE)
Our culture tends to be of the gathering and collective nature. The proliferation of storage businesses serve as clear evidence. We store up all kinds of things. Some are attracted to glittery, shiny things and others are into loud and fast-moving things. Some stockpile money, gold, silver, coins, etc. However, money cannot buy the things that are the most valuable. May we treasure the glorious Presence of God-with-Us (Immanuel) more than anything. He is our constant Companion, our Savior & Lord, our Healer, our Guide and Teacher, etc. May we treasure loving God, loving His Word, and being doers of His Word. Value sharing His grace and love with others, and spending time with loved ones. For your heart will always pursue what you esteem as your treasure.” (Matthew 6:21 TPT)
