“The God Who Sees”

Image
Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here [in the wilderness] remained alive after seeing Him [who sees me with understanding and compassion]?” Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi (Well of the Living One Who Sees Me); it is between Kadesh and Bered. — Genesis 16:13-14 (AMP) The Angel of the LORD came to Hagar by a spring of water in the wilderness. She was fleeing from the presence of her mistress Sarai, who was dealing harshly with her, after she conceived a baby with Abram. (See Genesis 16:4-7) Wherever you are today, know that El Roi (the “God Who Sees”), sees you with understanding and compassion. God is full of compassion, and His understanding is infinite. (See Psalms 86:15 & 147:5 NKJV) He has heard your affliction, and just as He had a plan for Hagar and her descendants, He also has a plan for you. (See Genesis 16:10-12) The LORD has examined your heart and He knows everything about you. He k...

He Stands With You

Image
In his unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies. — Psalms 59:10 (NLT) Everyone may abandon you, in your time of need. But the LORD stands with you and gives you strength, to do all that He has purposed for you to do. Philippians 4:13 (AMP) says: I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love. — Psalms 59:16-17 (NLT)

He Looks at the Heart

Image
But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7 (LSB) In Samuel 13:14, Samuel told Saul, “Yahweh has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart…” The LORD does not change. (See Malachi 3:6) He still looks at the heart. “As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person.”  (Proverbs 27:19 NLT) Have a devoted heart that does not depart from Yahweh, and is always willing to follow His ways. Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs and examines the hearts [of people and their motives]. (Proverbs 21:2 AMP) The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but the blameless in their walk are His delight. (Proverbs 11:20 NASB1995) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure bring...

Called Out

Image
“But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.” — 1 Peter 2:9 (TPT) God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. (See 1 John 1:5 NASB1995) He has called us out of the darkness to live in the light. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! (Ephesians 5:8 NLT) With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. (Ephesians 4:17 NLT) Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. (See Philippians 2:15 NLT) “For at one time you were not God’s people, but now you are. At one time you knew nothing of God’s mercy, because you hadn’t received it yet...

Rich in Mercy

Image
Now the LORD had told Samuel the previous day, “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel. He will rescue them from the Philistines, for I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry.” — 1 Samuel 9:15-16 (NLT) Our heavenly Father looks upon His people in mercy, and He hears our cries. Mercy is when we don’t get what we deserve. When we repent and confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:9) For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103:11-12 NKJV) I reiterate the words of Samuel as he reassured the people: “Don’t be afraid. You have certainly done wrong, but make sure now that you worship the LORD with all your heart, and don’t turn your back on him. Don’t go back to wors...

Come Closer

Image
“And since we now have a magnificent High Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity, and we have been freed from an accusing conscience. Now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out!” — Hebrews 10:21-22 (TPT) Being united with God is our highest good. (See Psalms 73:28 GW) Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. (Hebrews 4:16 AMP) In Matthew 15:8 (NKJV), Yeshua says: “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” Let us draw near to the throne of our graciou...

He Remembers You

Image
Then they arose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned again to their house in Ramah. And Elkanah had relations with Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.  — 1 Samuel 1:19 (NASB1995) In 1 Samuel 1:10 (NLT), Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the LORD. Eli, the priest, saw her lips moving but heard no sound, so he thought she had been drinking. (See 1 Samuel 1:12-13 NLT) “Oh no, sir!” she replied. “I haven’t been drinking wine or anything stronger. But I am very discouraged, and I was pouring out my heart to the LORD. Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.” (1 Samuel 15-16 NLT) When they returned home, Elkanah slept with Hannah, and the LORD remembered her plea, and in due time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, “I asked the LORD for him.” (See 1 Samuel 1:19-20 NLT) If you are discouraged and in deep anguish, pour your heart out to Yahweh. He reme...

Bitter or Blessed?

Image
“Don’t call me Naomi,” she responded. “Instead, call me Mara, for the Almighty has made life very bitter for me. I went away full, but the LORD has brought me home empty. Why call me Naomi when the LORD has caused me to suffer and the Almighty has sent such tragedy upon me?” — Ruth 1:20-21 (NLT) After the death of her husband, and later, her two sons, Naomi felt that the LORD had raised His fist against her. (See Ruth 1:13) Instead of being called Naomi, which means pleasant, she told them to call her Mara, which means bitter. But look at Yahweh and His faithfulness to continue providing for her. In Ruth 1:6, He got word to her in Moab, that the LORD had blessed His people in Judah by giving them good crops again. In Ruth 1:16-17, He provided the loyalty of her daughter-in-law, Ruth, who told Naomi: “...Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May th...

Before the Battle

Image
Before the battle the Israelites went to Bethel and asked God, “Which tribe should go first to attack the people of Benjamin?” The LORD answered, “Judah is to go first.” — Judges 20:18 (NLT) In the first battle, Benjamin’s warriors, killed 22,000 Israelites on the battlefield. (See Judges 20:21) In Judges 20:23, the Israelites sought Yahweh again. For they had gone up to Bethel and wept in the presence of the LORD until evening. They asked the LORD, “Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again?” And the LORD said, “Go out and fight against them.” So the next day they went out again to fight against the men of Benjamin, but the men of Benjamin killed another 18,000 Israelites. (See Judges 20:24-25) In Judges 20:28, they sought God a third time. The Israelites asked the LORD, “Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again, or should we stop?” The LORD said, “Go! Tomorrow I will hand them over to you.” This time He ensured them of success. Even after the two prev...

Be Aware

Image
And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And he awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that Yahweh had left him. — Judges 16:20 (LSB) Samson did not realize that Yahweh had left him. What a sad situation. After being lulled to sleep with his head in the lap of Delilah, and having the seven locks of his hair shaved off, Delilah began to bring him down, and his strength left him. (See Judges 16:19) Today, we have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling inside of us and He promises to never leave us or forsake us. In Matthew 28:20 (NKJV), Yeshua says: “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Intentionally set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD our God. Seek Him, and you will find Him when you search for Him with all your heart. (See Jeremiah 29:13 NASB1995) Don’t let the things of this world, distract you and draw you away from Yahweh. Remain alert and aware of Satan and his devices.

His Purpose Prevails

Image
His father and mother objected. “Isn’t there even one woman in our tribe or among all the Israelites you could marry?” they asked. “Why must you go to the pagan Philistines to find a wife?” But Samson told his father, “Get her for me! She looks good to me.” His father and mother didn’t realize the LORD was at work in this, creating an opportunity to work against the Philistines, who ruled over Israel at that time. — Judges 14:3-4 (NLT) Samson was disobeying Yahweh’s instructions not to intermarry with the nations He was driving out of the land before the Israelites. (See Deuteronomy 7:1-3) But God had a plan to use Samson’s disobedience to bring about His will.  Sometimes we cannot see how God is working, but let us confidently believe that He is always working for our good. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. (See Isaiah 55:9) May we trust God and continue to follow the lead of His Holy Spir...

Hope in Him

Image
“The LORD is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul; “Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.” The LORD is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, to those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word]. It is good that one waits quietly for the salvation of the LORD. — Lamentations 3:24-26 (AMP) Yahweh is our eternal inheritance. He is all we need. Keep your hope in Him. Yahweh is always good to all who trust in him, to the soul who searches for him. (Lamentations 3:25 TPT) For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. (See 2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV) Wait quietly, no whining, grumbling, nor complaining. Wait expectantly for the LORD to show Himself strong on your behalf.  I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. Hope in Yahweh; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Hope in Yahweh. (...

Know His Name

Image
The LORD also will be a refuge and a stronghold for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble; And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not abandoned those who seek You. — Psalms 9:9-10 (AMP) Our help is in the name of Yahweh, Who made heaven and earth. (Psalms 124:8 LSB) His name endures forever. He is El Elyon, the God Most High, over all the earth. He is El Roi, the God-Who-Sees. Call upon His name and He will answer. Now I know that Yahweh saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving might of His right hand. Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of Yahweh, our God. (Psalms 20:6-7 LSB) He is Elohim, the all-powerful One. May our hearts be united to fear His name. (See Psalms 86:11) Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not dread; For Yah—Yahweh Himself—is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” (Isaiah...

“WHY?”

Image
Then Gideon said to him, “O my lord, if Yahweh is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His wondrous deeds which our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not Yahweh bring us up from Egypt?’ But now Yahweh has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.” — Judges 6:13 (LSB) We may sometimes wonder “ why? ” certain things are happening to us, but the more important thing is “ WHO ” is with us in the midst of all the trials and tribulations. As Yahweh told Gideon in Judges 6:16 (AMP), He will certainly be with you. And if God is for us, who can be [successful] against us? (See Romans 8:31 AMP) When you go through deep waters, He will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (See Isaiah 43:2 NLT) And thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ… (See 2 Corinthians 2:14 NASB1995) And Yahweh did not abando...

Surrounded

Image
So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. — 2 Kings 6:16-17 (NASB1995) After the king of Aram was informed that Elisha, the prophet, tells the king of Israel the words he speaks in the privacy of his bedroom, the king sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city. When the attendant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” (See 2 Kings 6:11-15) But Elisha prayed and Yahweh opened his eyes. When you feel surrounded by the enemy, don't panic. Remember, there are more with us than those with the enemy. You are from God, little children, and have o...

He is With You

Image
“You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me!” — Psalms 139:3-5 (TPT) Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5 LSB) No matter what you go through, He will be with you. He will not fail you nor abandon you. He cares about you with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully. (See 1 Peter 5:7 AMP) O LORD of hosts, how blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation]. — Psalms 84:12 (AMP)

Choose for Yourselves

Image
“ If it is evil in your sight to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh. ” — Joshua 24:15 (LSB) God has given us free will. Each person gets to choose for themselves, who they will serve. It's a choice between life and death, good and evil, blessing and cursing. (See Deuteronomy 30) Let us make a dedicated decision to follow Yahweh, and our Savior, Yeshua the Messiah, each and every day. Don’t waver between opinions. Be committed to follow Christ. There is no impartial position, nor a neutral gray area. In Luke 11:23, Yeshua says: “He who is not with Me is against Me…” “So now, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to Yahweh, the God of Israel.” And the people said to Joshua, “We will serve Yahweh our God, and we will listen to His voice.” (Joshua...

Reaching Forward

Image
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:13-14 (NASB1995) In order to move onward and upward with Yeshua, we need to forget what lies behind. Forget those who did you wrong, who falsely accused you, or abandoned you, etc. We need to let go of any material things or accomplishments we hold onto so dearly, and strive to know and become personally acquainted with our Lord and Savior. In Philippians 3:13 (TPT), the Apostle Paul says: “… I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.”  Another thing that will enable us to press on toward the call of God is stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, and run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, looking away from all that will...

Seek God

Image
nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; — Acts 17:25-27 (NASB1995) God determined our appointed times and the boundaries of our habitation. We are here on earth, dwelling where we live for such a time as this. Every day of your life was recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (See Psalms 139:16 NLT) He knows the plans He has for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (See Jeremiah 29:11 NLT) Let us live, move, and have our being in Him. For we also are His children. (See Acts 17:28) And He cares about you with deepest affection, and...

Live by Faith

Image
“For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. But My righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. — Hebrews 10:37-39 (NASB1995) Hebrews 11:6 says: without faith it is impossible to please God. Do not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but grow strong in faith, and give glory to God. (like Abraham in Romans 4:20) Let us walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]— (See 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP)  If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit]. (Galatians 5:25 AMP) As believers, the Holy Spirit dwells in us and empowers us to overcome temptation and to do all that God ...

Rise Again

Image
The footsteps of a man are established by Yahweh, and He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because Yahweh is the One who sustains his hand. — Psalm 37:23-24 (LSB) Notice that the Word says “WHEN” he falls, not if. We are all subject to fall, in some way. However, we do not have to stay down. Proverbs 24:16 says: …a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again. He will lift you out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He will set your feet on solid ground. (See Psalms 40:2 NLT) No matter how dark and deep the pit, Yahweh is able to lift you out. Proverbs 16:18 (AMP) says: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God (See 1 Peter 5:6), and follow His direction for your life. Keep your trust in Him, even when the path grows dark, or when the battle is all uphill. You are continually with Yahweh and He has taken hold of your right hand. He will guide you with...

Take Refuge

Image
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. — Psalms 36:7 (NASB1995) It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. (Psalms 118:8 NASB1995) His lovingkindness is better than life. (See Psalms 63:3 NASB1995) He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. (See Proverbs 30:5 NASB1995) Because He has been your help, sing for joy in the shadow of His wings. May your soul follow close behind Him; His right hand upholds you. (See Psalms 63:7-8 NKJV/NASB1995) The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take refuge in Him. (Nahum 1:7 NASB1995) Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge until destruction passes by. — Psalms 57:1 (NASB1995)

Endure

Image
“My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.” — James (Jacob) 1:2-4 (TPT) Let us endure hardship, and run with endurance the race that is set before us. ...looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2 NASB1995) And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. (Romans 8:28 AMP)

Know This

Image
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...”  — Hosea 4:6 (NASB1995) In Hosea 4:6 (NLT) the LORD says: “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me…” Know that the LORD is good (See Psalms 34:8) Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek Him. (See Hebrews 11:6 NLT) Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. (Hebrews 10:35-36 NASB1995) Know that because God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (See John 3:16) Yeshua is the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. The sheep follow him because they know his voice. (See John 10:11 & 10:4) We need to know the voice of our Shepherd, so we can follow Him. May we know Him and personally experience th...

Here to Rescue

Image
For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. Here’s the point. God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction.  — John 3:16-17 (VOICE) Believe in God, believe also in Yeshua. (See John 14:1) Although you haven’t seen Jesus, you still love Him. Although you don’t yet see Him, you do believe in Him and celebrate with a joy that is glorious and beyond words. You are receiving the salvation of your souls as the result of your faith. (1 Peter 1:8-9 VOICE) I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, my soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10 NASB1995)

The Strength of My Heart

Image
Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand. With Your counsel You will guide me, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. — Psalm 73:23-26 (NASB1995) Blessed is the man whose strength is in You. It is good for me to draw near to God. For You are only my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth. By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You. I have become as a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day. (See Psalms 84:5, 71:5-8, 73:28) “…I’ll keep coming closer and closer to you, Lord YAHWEH, for your name is good to me. I’ll keep telling the world of your awesome works, my faithful and glorious God!” — Psalms 73:28 (TPT)

Be Deeply Rooted

Image
Now that you have welcomed the Anointed One, Jesus the Lord, into your lives, continue to journey with Him and allow Him to shape your lives. Let your roots grow down deeply in Him, and let Him build you up on a firm foundation. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, and always spill over with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:6-7 (VOICE) Proverbs 12:12 (NKJV) says: the root of the righteous yields fruit. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. (Ephesians 3:16-17 NLT) Amen. Those who delight in the law of the LORD, and meditate on it day and night are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. (See Psalms 1:2-3 NLT) May we take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

Realize This

Image
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these. — 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NASB) The Holy Scriptures forewarned us that in the last days difficult times would come. A glimpse of any current news report and we can see signs that the last days are indeed upon us. In Matthew 24:12 (NKJV), Yeshua says: “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” I implore you, my beloved brethren, that in the midst of challenging and chaotic times, you do not let your love grow cold. May we let the light of God's love shine brightly through us, so others may have hope and be ...

The Call to Worship

Image
“Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD.” — Psalms 89:15 (NLT) Worship is more than a song and a shout. It's a lifestyle that honors God by how we live, and the words we speak. Blessed [happy and sheltered by God’s favor] is everyone who fears the LORD [and worships Him with obedience], who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments. (Psalms 128:1 AMP) Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His footstool— He is holy. (Psalms 99:5 NKJV) Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; Worship Yahweh in the beauty and majesty of His holiness. (See Psalms 29:2) All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh, and all the families of the nations will worship before You. For the kingdom is Yahweh’s and He rules over the nations. (Psalms 22:27-28 LSB) “But be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the LORD and serve and worship other gods.” (Deuteronomy 11:16 NLT) ‘You sh...

The Peace of Christ

Image
Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. — Colossians 3:15 (AMP) Instead of letting “the problem of the day” fester in your mind. Keep Christ at the center of your thoughts. He is Immanuel, “God with us.” (See Matthew 1:23) Our mighty God reigns! Nothing is too difficult for Him. “Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One…” (See Colossians 3:15 TPT) He is the Prince of Peace. (See Isaiah 9:6) May His peace rule in your hearts, your minds and in your relationships with others. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace]...

Alive & Powerful

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. — Hebrews 4:12 (NLT) Instead of focusing on the latest news, give your attention to the greatest news of all time, the Word of God. Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) says: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. His word is a lamp to guide our feet and a light for our path. (See Psalms 119:105 NLT) So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to the commands of the LORD your God. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the ...

More Than Conquerors

Image
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. — 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NLT) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37 AMP) Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind]. (1 John 4:4 AMP) “… we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything! ” — Romans 8:37 (TPT)

I Will Rejoice

Image
Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. — Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NKJV) Habakkuk 3:18 (AMP) says: “Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the LORD; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation!” Let us make a dedicated decision to rejoice in Yahweh, regardless of the circumstances. It's our choice to rejoice! Yahweh, our mighty God, is with us and His purpose and plan will prevail. The plans He has for us are good and He will cause everything to work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. (See Jeremiah 29:11 & Romans 8:28) Amen.

Keeping Watch

Image
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. — Proverbs 15:3 (NKJV) The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks on all the inhabitants of the earth; (Psalms 33:13-14) He is El Roi, The-God-Who-Sees. (See Genesis 16:13) Even the darkness is not dark to Him, and the night is as bright as the day. (See Psalms 139:12) ...the LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes. An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. (Proverbs 5:21-22 NLT) …the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. (See 2 Chronicles 16:9 NASB1995) For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. (See 1 Samuel 16:7)  Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from deat...

Drawn with Love

Image
The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” — Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) Yahweh draws us to Himself with lovingkindness, a love that never fails. He redeems your life from destruction, and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. (See Psalms 103:4 NKJV) How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. (Psalms 36:7-8 NASB1995) Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. (Psalms 143:8 NKJV) For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked [faithfully] in Your truth. (Psalms 26:3 AMP) Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. (Psalms 63:3 NKJV)

He Rescues

Image
Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all.  — Psalms 34:19 (AMP)  Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through... (See Peter 4:12 NLT) In John 16:33 (NLT), Yeshua told his disciples: “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.” Let us not be overwhelmed when troubles come our way. Yeshua instructed us to take courage. In Him, we may have peace. He has overcome the world.  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. (Psalms 34:6-7 NASB1995) The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from ALL their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.  (Psalms 34:17-18 NLT) He is the living God, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues and performs signs and ...

Arise & Shine!

Image
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and dense gloom the peoples; But Yahweh will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you.” — Isaiah 60:1-2 (LSB) Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20 NASB1995) The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. (Isaiah 9:2 NASB1995) As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. (Micah 7:7-8 NLT) Who is among you that fears Yahweh, that listens to the voice of His Servant, that walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and rely on his God....

Every Perfect Gift

Image
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.  — James 1:17 (NASB1995) He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32 NKJV) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the [Holy] Spirit who is from God, so that we may know and understand the [wonderful] things freely given to us by God. (1 Corinthians 2:12 AMP) The payoff for a life of sin is death, but God is offering us a free gift—eternal life through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, the Liberating King. (Romans 6:23 VOICE) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV) Thanks be to Yahweh for His indescribable gift! Receive His gift today.  Great is the goodness and generosity of Yahweh. He has freely giv...

Be Cleansed

Image
Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the abundance of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. — Psalms 51:1-2 (LSB) Psalms 51:10 (TPT) says: “Keep creating in me a clean heart. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you.” Our sanctification is a continual process. Let us confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (See 1 John 1:9-10 NKJV) May we renew our minds with the Holy Scriptures and stand ready to please Him, above all others, including ourselves. …“The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life] and believe [with a deep, ab...

Where is Your Treasure?

Image
“Do not store up for yourselves [material] treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also.” — Matthew 6:19-21 (AMP) Matthew 6:21 (TPT) says: “…your heart will always pursue what you esteem as your treasure.” So, love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. (See Matthew 22:37) May we value God’s Presence with us as our greatest treasure. When He says, “Seek My face,” may our hearts say to Him, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.” (See Psalms 27:8) Passionately pursue a deep and intimate relationship with our eternal God and Father. Isaiah 33:6 (AMP) says: The fear of the LORD is your treasure.  Also, treasure His Word in your heart, that you may not si...

Nothing Too Difficult

Image
“ God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken and will He not make it good and fulfill it? ” — Numbers 23:19 (AMP) Jeremiah 32:17 (LSB) says: “Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You…” As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; (See Psalms 18:30) We can be certain that the word which Yahweh speaks will come to pass. In Isaiah 55:11 (LSB) He says: “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what pleases Me, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appro...

The Potter & The Clay

Image
But now, O Yahweh, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand. — Isaiah 64:8 (LSB) How foolish can you be? He is the Potter, and he is certainly greater than you, the clay!
Should the created thing say of the one who made it, “He didn’t make me”? “What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ (See Isaiah 29:16 & 45:9 NLT) This is what the LORD says— the Holy One of Israel and your Creator: “Do you question what I do for my children? Do you give me orders about the work of my hands? I am the one who made the earth and created people to live on it. With my hands I stretched out the heavens. All the stars are at my command.” (Isaiah 45:11-12 NLT) “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” (See Hebrews 3:15 NKJV) May our hearts be soft and pliable in the ha...

Perfect Peace

Image
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” — Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) If you want to be kept in perfect and constant peace, focus your mind on Yahweh in both inclination and character. Dedicate your heart and mind to Him. Trust in Him and take refuge in Him. (See Isaiah 26:3-4 AMP/VOICE) Instead of being mentally and emotionally consumed and distracted with problems and obstacles, think about His Presence with you wherever you go. Meditate on His goodness and faithfulness to fulfill every promise He has spoken. With Him is everlasting strength and stability. He is our hiding place; He preserves us from trouble; He surrounds us with songs of deliverance. Selah. (See Psalms 32:7) The eternal God is our refuge and dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms; (See Deuteronomy 33:27 AMP).  “Trust in Yahweh forever, for in Yah—Yahweh Himself—we have an everlasting Rock.” — Isaiah 26:4 (LSB)

He has a Plan

Image
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. — Romans 8:28 (AMP) One thing this verse tells us, is that Yahweh is deeply concerned about us. He watches over us continually to lead us and guide us along on the path that leads to life. He didn’t create us to abandon us. He is attentively involved in the details of our lives. The second take away from this verse is that our heavenly Father has a plan. And Jeremiah 29:11 says, His plan for us is for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give us a future and a hope. And third, we need to love Yahweh, and put Him first in all we do; Honor Him in our speech and our behavior. We also need to be called according to His plan and purpose, instead of running our own agenda, and we can be confident that He will cause all things to work together for good.

In the Morning

Image
It is good to give thanks to Yahweh and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night, — Psalms 92:1-2 (LSB) O Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who displays Your splendor above the heavens!  When I see Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have established; What is man that You remember him,
and the son of man that You care for him? (Psalms 8:1, 3-4 LSB) Praise Yah! Praise Yahweh, O my soul! I will praise Yahweh throughout my life; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. (Psalms 146:1-2 LSB) My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up. (Psalms 5:3 NKJV) “Let the dawning day bring me revelation of your tender, unfailing love. Give me light for my path and teach me, for I trust in you.” (Psalms 143:8 TPT) Sing praise to Yahweh, you His holy ones, and give thanks for the re...

No Complaining

Image
Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the LORD heard everything they said. Then the LORD’s anger blazed against them, and he sent a fire to rage among them, and he destroyed some of the people in the outskirts of the camp. — Numbers 11:1 (NLT) Complaining is unproductive, and it spreads negativity into the atmosphere. Instead of complaining, grumbling and murmuring about momentary afflictions and trials, bless the everlasting God, at all times. Let His praise continually flow from your mouth. (See Psalms 34:1) Hope continually, and praise Him yet more and more. (See Psalms 71:14) May the fruit of our lips, give thanks to His name forevermore. (See Hebrews 13:15) Keep trusting Yahweh to work everything together for good as you patiently endure troubles, hardships and calamities of every kind. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, ...

Life & Peace

Image
A mind focused on the flesh is doomed to death, but a mind focused on the Spirit will find full life and complete peace. — Romans 8:6 (VOICE) May we be led by the Holy Spirit in our thoughts and actions. …for if you are living according to the [impulses of the] flesh, you are going to die. But if [you are living] by the [power of the Holy] Spirit you are habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body, you will [really] live forever. (Romans 8:13 AMP) “For no matter how hard they try, God finds no pleasure with those who are controlled by the flesh. But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life, you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him.” (Romans 8:8-9 TPT) And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. (Romans 8:2 NLT)

Armed with Strength

Image
For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. — Psalms 18:39 (NKJV) Psalms 27:1 says, the LORD is the strength of my life… You can be certain that God has armed you with strength for whatever battles you face today. For who is God, but Yahweh? And who is a rock, except our God, the God who girds me with strength and makes my way blameless? He makes my feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me upon my high places. (Psalms 18:31-33 LSB) The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God! (See Psalms 68:35 NKJV) So be strong in the Lord. Draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him. (See Ephesians 6:10 AMP) “Shine and make your joyful boast in him, you lovers of God. Let’s be happy and keep rejoicing no matter what. Seek more of his strength! Seek more of him! Let’s always be seeking the light of his face.” — Psalms 105:3-4 (TPT)
