Feast on The Word

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “ that I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but shall not find it.” —Amos 8:11-12 (NKJV)

Feast on the Word of God daily, while it is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. (See Roman 10:8). Treasure His Word in your heart, that you may not sin against Him. (See Psalms 119:11) The Word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. (See Psalms 119:105) The Holy Scriptures show us the way to go.

How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Psalms 119:103 NASB1995) I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words. I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. (Psalms 119:147 & 162  NLT)

Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. (See Psalms 119:165 NKJV) As pressure and stress bear down on you, find joy in His commands. (See Psalms 119:143 NLT) Psalms 78:8 (NKJV) says, its a stubborn and rebellious generation, that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. Blessed and favored by God are those who keep His testimonies, and who [consistently] seek Him and long for Him with all their heart.
