“The heavens are shocked at such a thing and shrink back in horror and dismay,” says the LORD. “For my people have done two evil things: They have abandoned me— the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!” —Jeremiah 2:12-13 (NLT)

In Jeremiah 2:11 (NLT) Yahweh says: “… my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols!” In Jeremiah 2:32, He says, “for years on end my people have forgotten me.” “But the LORD is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at his anger. The nations cannot stand up to his wrath. Say this to those who worship other gods: “Your so-called gods, who did not make the heavens and earth, will vanish from the earth and from under the heavens.” But the LORD made the earth by his power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding he stretched out the heavens.” (Jeremiah 10:10-12 NLT)

May we never be like the children of Israel and wander away from the living God. May we treasure His Presence above all. Nothing in this world can compare with Him. “Return home, you wayward children,” says the LORD.. .” (See Jeremiah 3:14 NLT) Draw near to the God Most High with all of your heart and worship Him alone.
