By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. —Hebrews 11:3 (NKJV)

Words are powerful. They can build up or tear down. Words form perceptions and establish beliefs. They can create hope and expectation. With your words you can crush someone’s spirit or you can encourage and support. Proverbs 12:18 says, the tongue of the wise promotes health. Words can be used to deceive or they can reveal truth. Proverbs 10:31 says: The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut out. What kind of environment are you creating with the words that come out of your mouth?

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV) May we speak words of life and truth.

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel. — Ezra 7:10 (NKJV) May we prepare our hearts and set our minds to diligently read and study the Word of God. Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. (See Psalms 119:165 NKJV) As pressure and stress bear down on you, find joy in His commands. (See Psalms 119:143 NLT) Psalms 78:8 (NKJV) says, its a stubborn and rebellious generation, that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. Blessed and favored by God are those who keep His testimonies, and who [consistently] seek Him and long for Him with all their heart.
