The God Who Sees Me
Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the LORD, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” —Genesis 16:13 (NLT)
Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she finally ran away. However, the angel of the LORD found Hagar beside a spring of water in the wilderness... (See Genesis 16:6-7 NLT) Wherever we go, we can never escape from the Spirit of Yahweh. We can never get away from His Presence. (See Psalms 139:7) Psalms 139:9-10 says: “If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.”
When it seems as though you are wandering in the wilderness, remember that He is “the God Who Sees me.” (El Roi) He is with you and is aware of your circumstances. Yahweh will instruct you and guide you along the right path. Psalms 16:11 says, He will show you the way of life, granting you the joy of His presence and the pleasures of living with Him forever.
