Watch Your Words

Then Job answered and said: “How long will you torment my soul, and break me in pieces with words? These ten times you have reproached me; You are not ashamed that you have wronged me.”—Job 19:1-3 (NKJV)

Proverbs 18:21 says, death and life are in the power of the tongue. In Genesis 27:33 (NLT), after Isaac had mistakenly blessed Jacob, he told Esau that the blessing must stand! Our words are powerful. When we cut people with our words, we may go back and apologize, but the damage has already been done. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health. (Proverbs 12:18 NKJV) Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (Proverbs 29:20 NKJV) May we be slow to speak and carefully choose our words. Let us speak wise words, those of life, love, peace, and blessing. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet and delightful to the soul and healing to the body. (Proverbs 16:24 AMP) 

In Exodus 4:12 (NLT), the LORD said to Moses: “Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” Yahweh is with us and will instruct us in our speech. Yield your tongue to His Holy Spirit within you. Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles. (Proverbs 21:23 NKJV)

Patient Endurance

“ So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. ” — Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT) Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. (Hebrews 10:23) Hebrews 10:37-38 (NLT)  says: “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.” (Hebrews 10:39 NLT) We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. Don't Drift

“So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.” — Hebrews 2:1 (NLT) Don’t drift away from the truth, God’s Word. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV) And never doubt, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
