Better Than Life

“O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.” —Psalms 63:1, 3 (NASB1995) 

“I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.”  —Psalms 63:4-5 (NLT)

The lovingkindnesses of Yahweh indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. (Lamentations 3:22 LSB) They are certainly better than life itself. “…With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.” (See Psalms 84:2 NLT) For He is a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness. He loves us with an everlasting love, and He draws us to Himself with lovingkindness. Even Yahweh, the God of hosts, Yahweh is His name of remembrance. Therefore, return to your God, keep lovingkindness and justice, and hope in your God continually. (Hosea 12:5-6 LSB) 

For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says Yahweh who has compassion on you. —Isaiah 54:10 (LSB)

Don't Drift
