Abide in Him

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”—John 15:4-5 (NASB1995)

Yeshua is the true vine, and His Father is the vinedresser. (See John 15:1) In John 15:2 (TPT), Yeshua says: “He cares for the branches connected to me by lifting and propping up the fruitless branches and pruning every fruitful branch to yield a greater harvest.” Yahweh takes care of the branches, that are connected to the vine. Our part is to stay connected to Yeshua. Then, we are able to live and bear good fruit in abundance. He is the source of life. In Him we live and move and have our being. (See Acts 17:28 NKJV) Apart from Him, we wither and die. Instead of conforming to the ways of this world, or blindly following the desires of our flesh, let us choose life and cling to Christ, our Savior and Lord.
