Delight in the LORD

Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, but sought the God of his father, and walked in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel. 2 Chronicles 17:3-4 (NKJV)

Second Chronicles 17:6 says: Jehoshaphat’s heart took delight in the ways of the LORD; moreover he removed the high places and wooden images from Judah. He had the Levites and the priests go throughout all the cities of Judah, with the Book of the Law of the LORD and they taught the people. (See 2 Chronicles 17:7-9) Yahweh is faithful to His Word, and He greatly blessed Jehoshaphat. Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah brought presents to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor. (See 2 Chronicles 17:5 LSB) And the fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat. (2 Chronicles 17:10 NKJV)

Delight yourself also in the LORD, and in His ways. As we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, Yahweh will take care of all that concerns us. When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7 NKJV) Blessed are those who delight in the law of the LORD, and meditate in His law day and night. (See Psalms 1:1-3 & Joshua 1:8)
