Pay Attention

He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. —Proverbs 16:20 (NASB1995)

Every word of God proves true. (See Proverbs 30:5 NLT) Let us regularly turn our attention to the Word of God, and let it renew our minds from the programming of this world. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12 NLT)

Don’t just listen to the Word, heed what it says. James 1:22 (AMP) says: But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]. In John 8:31 (AMP), Yeshua says:  “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples.”

Be Fruitful

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. — Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB1995) As disciples of Christ, we have been chosen and appointed to go and bear fruit, lasting fruit. (See John:15:16) The Amplified Bible points out that bearing the fruit of the Spirit, is the result of His presence within us. (See Galatians 5:22 AMP) In John 15:4 (NLT), Jesus said: “Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
