He Delivers

Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, the time came for the king’s command and his decree to be executed. On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred, in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them.” —Esther 9:1 (NKJV)

Haman sought to destroy Mordecai and all the Jews. (See Esther 3:6) In the end, they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai, and later they also hanged Haman’s ten sons. (See Esther 7:10 & 9:14) While the first decree called to destroy, to kill and to annihilate all the Jews, the king’s following decree gave the Jews in every city authority to unite to defend their lives. (See Esther 3:13 & 8:11) And in every province and city, wherever the king’s command and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday. Then many of the people of the land became Jews, because fear of the Jews fell upon them. (Esther 8:17)

No matter how bleak your situation appears, keep trusting Yahweh. He knows how to rescue His people. He is able to turn a day of doom and darkness into a day of gladness and light. In time, He will turn your mourning into joyful dancing. In Psalms 50:15 (NKJV), God says: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.
