Worship at All Times

Image
Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be the name of Yahweh.” — Job 1:20-21 (LSB) Job received one bad report after another. First, he was notified that all of his oxen and donkeys were taken and his servants with them killed. Then he was told, all of his sheep and his servants with them were burned up in a fire. Thirdly, he found out his camels were taken and his servants with them killed. In addition to all of that, he received the bad news that all ten of his children were dead. (See Job 1:14-19) Faced with all this devastation, Job 1:22 says: Through all this Job did not sin, nor did he give offense to God. Instead of getting an attitude and blaming God, He fell to the ground in submission and humility and worshiped Yahweh. How can we continue to worship God in the midst of tragedy and loss? First,...

Created in His Image

Image
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  — Genesis 1:27 (NASB1995) In Genesis 1:3, 1:10,1:12,1:18,1:21 and 1:25, God saw that what He made was good. However, on the sixth day, the day He created man, God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. (See Genesis 1:31) Since we are made in the image of Elohim, our Creator, let us reflect His unconditional love, His amazing grace, and His marvelous kindness. For from Him [all things originate] and through Him [all things live and exist] and to Him are all things [directed]. To Him be glory and honor forever! Amen. (Romans 11:36 AMP) Through Him we are to live and function and have our identity... (See Acts 17:28 TPT). The nearness of God is our good; (See Psalms 73:28 NASB1995) O taste and see that Yahweh is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! (Psalms 34:8 LSB) O my soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; I have no good without You.” ...

Trust in the Lord

Image
“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make.” — Proverbs 3:5 (TPT) It is prideful to think we can run our lives without Yahweh. And we know that pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (See Proverbs 16:18) Do not rely on your own ideas and opinions, nor follow the ways of this world. Trying to figure things out on your own can lead to frustration, confusion, and exhaustion. Instead, listen for the voice of Almighty God. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. (Proverbs 3:6 AMP) For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Psalms 84:11 NASB1995)

Commit Your Works

Image
Commit your works to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], and your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. — Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) Before you begin executing your plans, submit them to Yahweh. And trust Him to lead you and guide you to take the right action, at the right time and in the right direction. In Psalms 32:8 (NLT) the LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Let us be humble, patient, and teachable, as we faithfully follow Yahweh along the path that leads to life. But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. — Matthew 6:33 (AMP)
