The Call to Worship
“Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD.” —Psalms 89:15 (NLT)
Worship is more than a song and a shout. It's a lifestyle that honors God by how we live, and the words we speak. Blessed [happy and sheltered by God’s favor] is everyone who fears the LORD [and worships Him with obedience], who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments. (Psalms 128:1 AMP) Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His footstool— He is holy. (Psalms 99:5 NKJV) Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; Worship Yahweh in the beauty and majesty of His holiness. (See Psalms 29:2) All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh, and all the families of the nations will worship before You. For the kingdom is Yahweh’s and He rules over the nations. (Psalms 22:27-28 LSB)
“But be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the LORD and serve and worship other gods.” (Deuteronomy 11:16 NLT) ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ (See Matthew 4:10 NKJV)
