A Sun & Shield

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD bestows grace and favor and honor; 
No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, how blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation]. —Psalms 84:11-12 (AMP)

The light of Yahweh warms us and shows us which path to take. He is a shield of protection in times of trouble. The Eternal grants favor and glory; He doesn’t deny any good thing to those who live with integrity. (See Psalms 84:11 VOICE) Don’t be like Eve, who let the devil get her focused on the one thing she could not have, while she was surrounded by all the other trees in the garden whose fruit she could freely eat. (See Genesis 3:2-6) Second Peter 1:3 (NKJV) says: His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue… Thanks be to God, Who provides all that we need.

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel. — Ezra 7:10 (NKJV) May we prepare our hearts and set our minds to diligently read and study the Word of God. Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. (See Psalms 119:165 NKJV) As pressure and stress bear down on you, find joy in His commands. (See Psalms 119:143 NLT) Psalms 78:8 (NKJV) says, its a stubborn and rebellious generation, that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. Blessed and favored by God are those who keep His testimonies, and who [consistently] seek Him and long for Him with all their heart. Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (AMP) James 1:2-4 (NLT) says: “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you.
